With this option the way of practising is set, 'Foreign-native' (eg. Spanish-English), 'Native-foreign' (eg. English-Spanish) or 'Both ways'.
The easiest is 'Foreign-native'; more difficult is 'Both ways'.
Both ways
The questions will be asked both 'Foreign-native' and 'Native-foreign'.
Native-foreign without remarks
For learning words, context is very important.
Many lists contain sample sentences (context). This is often necessary, to know which translation is meant e.g. ('punir' = 'punish', but also 'visit').
The context is presented as extra information in e.g.("Peut-on fonder le droit de punir?").
If the setting is English-French, the context is visible, that's why this setting is available.
