Phonetic symbols

Phonetic transcription (or phonetic notation) is the visual system of symbolization of the sounds occurring in spoken human language. The most common type of phonetic transcription uses a phonetic alphabet (such as the International Phonetic Alphabet).

Teach2000 has integrated support for the International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA).

To enter phonetic symbols, choose from the menu [View][Phonetic symbols]. Build the phonetic transcription in the screen that appears.
The phonetic transcription can be added to a question as extra comment. Select the font 'Lucida Sans Unicode' for this task.

To finish the phonetic transcription, select Copy to move the text to the clipboard. The clipboard can be pasted in the field 'Remarks'.

To make use of this feature, the font Lucida Sans Unicode must be installed on the computer. The font comes standard with Windows. If the font is missing, download it for free here.
